Berndt Group Expands Internet Marketing Services, Adds Former Advertising.com Product Manager Kara Kemahli to Staff

May 8, 2006

BALTIMORE, MD—The Berndt Group, www.berndtgroup.net, a Baltimore, Maryland-based full service interactive agency, has made significant changes to launch new, improved consulting services in the area of Internet Marketing.

The new services cover the following areas:

  • Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
  • Email Campaign Management
  • Online Advertising
  • Customer Behavior Analytics
  • Usability Testing

Internet marketing is the catch-all term for the wide variety of services that are necessary to drive traffic to a web site and make the best use of what traffic arrives, focusing on lead generation, conversion, and community building around web sites. These services supplement traditional Web development skills and are an ever-growing area in the Internet marketing, involving arcane and specialized skills.

John Berndt, President of The Berndt Group, has this to say about the new services: “What interests us is the integration of Internet Marketing strategies, especially search and promotional email with the development of a given web site, rather than the “out-source, after-the-fact” model prevalent in the industry. From our standpoint, this integrated approach provides considerably more measurable value for our clients, since there are many elements of developing a site and marketing the site that need to be conceived of in concert.”

A substantial expansion on previous offerings by the firm in these areas, the new services are being used by clients as diverse as The Social Security Administration, Mercy Hospital, The Shelter Group’s BrightView Senior Living, and U.S. Immigration. The new services combine current industry best-practices and technology with The Berndt Group’s highly proven ability to create brand-building, high-usability, high-profile web sites.

In support of this effort, and as part of a general expansion of the company, The Berndt Group has hired Kara Kemahli as an addition to the consulting branch of the company. Kara has over eight years of experience managing high-end Internet Marketing strategies. She was recently employed as a senior Product Manager at Advertising.Com, where she was responsible for the profit and loss of the affiliate product line which included email, Web select, and co-registration networks. She also worked closely with the marketing department to define the go-to-market strategy which involved understanding product positioning, key benefits, and target customers.

Previous to that, she was a Senior Project Manager in New York for Luminant Worldwide where she was the primary account executive for Sony, M&M/Mars, and DeBeers Diamonds.

“We are very glad to have Kara join our team,” says Berndt Group Vice President Michelle Géczy. “For some time, we’ve been adding to our skills in these areas, but the hire of Kara and the expert level industry knowledge she brings is invaluable to some of the major projects we have in this area, and to the development of new business.”
