Berndt Group Launches New Web Sites for Brightview Senior Living Communities

Multi-Site Ektron CMS400.NET Implementation

January 27, 2010

BALTIMORE, MD—The Berndt Group worked with longstanding client, Brightview Senior Living, LLC, a leader in senior living communities, to put a fresh new face to its web sites, as well as implement a new and improved technology platform. The new web sites are implemented in the Ektron CMS400.NET content management system.

Based in Baltimore, MD, Brightview Senior Living, LLC opened its first senior living community in Maryland in 1997. Today, Brightview offers nineteen communities in nine states - Connecticut, Florida, Maryland, Massachusetts, Missouri, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and Virginia. The communities include Independent Living, Assisted Living and Alzheimer’s Care options.

Brightview is a senior-focused part of The Shelter Group, a privately-held company that has been in business for more than 30 years. The Shelter Group develops, manages and owns residential real estate while specializing in multi-family and senior living communities. Brightview is committed to creating vibrant senior living communities by providing excellent service to all of our customers. The goal of Brightview communities is to create environments that are a great place to live and a great place to work.

The new Brightview Senior Living web sites launched in January 2010. Specific areas of focus for the project, and highlights of the new sites, include:

  • New look-and-feel that introduces the new Brightview brand attributes;
  • Senior-friendly and accessible design (colors, contrast, font size changer);
  • 19 senior living communities in 9 states accessible via their own URLs;
  • Multi-site architecture featuring shared content across the corporate and community sites, as well as customized content per community;
  • Centralized Ektron CMS platform to manage content for all sites;
  • Taxonomy-based community search (by Location and Service Option);
  • Google-powered directions per community.

Berndt Group President and CEO John Berndt commented, "We enjoyed working on the redesign of the Brightview Senior Living web sites; we think the updated look-and-feel matches the vibrancy of the communities themselves and it's great to see the web sites reflecting the communities themselves. Implementing the sites in a content management system is also a vital next step in the growth of these community sites; we think Brightview Senior Living now has a technology platform that will serve them well."

The Shelter Group and Brightview Senior Living are longstanding clients of The Berndt Group. The Berndt Group designed the previous iteration of the Brightview Senior Living community web sites. We are currently redesigning The Shelter Group corporate web site as well as implementing web sites for Parkview Senior Living communities. All sites involve Ektron implementations.
