Berndt Group Launches New Web Site for the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM)
Site Engineered in the Ektron Content Management System
March 2, 2010
BALTIMORE, MD—The Berndt Group partnered with the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) to develop a new web site for the organization, implemented in the Ektron CMS 400 Content Management System (CMS). The new site went live in March 2010.
The vision of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) is to be the nationally and internationally recognized leader for multidisciplinary information, education, advocacy and standards in the field of reproductive medicine. The ASRM is a nonprofit organization whose members must demonstrate the high ethical principles of the medical profession, evince an interest in infertility, reproductive medicine and biology, and adhere to the objectives of the Society.
A few of the features to note on the new ASRM site:
- Single sign-on for members; members can visit external journal sites after logging into the ASRM site.
- Member only content—content in various areas of the site that ASRM has tagged as "member only" in Ektron is available to authenticated members.
- Integration with the AMS software, Euclid—we used an iframe to display the AMS webforms but integrated our CSS into the forms for a seamless member experience.
- Content re-usage—content is reused and repurposed from the main site to a patient site (www.reproductivefacts.org) and/or the Affiliate sites; this is all managed in the same CMS content item but displaying in different sites.
- Photo Gallery—we implemented a content managed photo/video gallery.
- Topics/Interests—users can select topics that interest them in the AMS and then display new information on those interests all in one place using the implemented topics taxonomy.
The Berndt Group is currently completing work on five Affiliate sites also content managed in Ektron.
"It was a challenge to create a more interactive web site for our members, as well as organize the vast amount of patient-focused information on our site. The Berndt Group worked with us to redesign our existing site and create a complementary site focused on the reproductive health needs of patients and the public. Both sites are customer-service oriented, appealing and easy to navigate," said ASRM Executive Director, Dr. Robert Rebar.
John Berndt, President and CEO of The Berndt Group, commented,"The new ASRM web site is an example of a best practices association web site. The Berndt Group excels at soup-to-nuts web site redesign projects for large associations, involving complex strategic consulting, information architecture, graphic design, production, content transition, and CMS implementation services. We thoroughly enjoy helping organizations solve their business problems and coming up with solutions for organizations that are tailored to the organization and follow industry best practices. We provide our clients with the tools they need to continue to advance their web presence long after the new site launches."
